About:

I began my role as an Administrative Data Technician and Family Support Specialist at Special Kids Connect in May 2024, marking a significant career change for me. Previously, I worked as an Administrative Assistant for a large agricultural company and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Agribusiness from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2023.

Seeking a more fulfilling way to serve my community and explore resources for my own family, I joined Special Kids Connect. My role has since evolved, and I now focus on helping parents navigate the special education system. Supporting families brings me great joy and inspires me to continue learning, and it has even motivated me to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work in the near future.

Family means a lot to me. I am originally from Culiacán, Sinaloa, and although I miss my family there, I am grateful to have my husband’s large and welcoming family here in the U.S. We recently started our own family, and my baby boy is my world. Becoming a new mom has highlighted just how important the work at Special Kids Connect truly is.

What I like best about working at Special Kids Connect:

Working for Special Kids Connect is incredibly rewarding. I have contributed to a variety of projects that connected me with parents of children of all ages, helping them navigate community resources to find the best support. Today, my role focuses on assisting with IEPs and educational questions, and I continue to take pride in helping families.

Fun fact:

I like collecting vintage video game systems, and playing Magic: The Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons.
