About:

I have been a lifelong advocate for the disability community since my college days at Michigan State University as a Tower Guard member supporting the university’s Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD). After graduation, I moved to Minneapolis, where I volunteered as a recreation assistant for the Courage Center, now known as Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, which serves people with disabilities and individuals recovering from serious injuries such as brain injury, stroke, or spinal cord injury.

I joined Special Kids Connect’s Board of Directors in 2011 and transitioned to a staff position in 2014, eventually becoming Executive Director in December 2015. My early days at SKC were shaped by the mentorship of two BCBA colleagues who challenged my preconceived notions of inclusion and continue to influence how I approach this work.

Together, we strive to make Monterey County more welcoming and inclusive for all families. We all belong.

What I like best about working at Special Kids Connect:

The families, the staff, the work... It is a privilege to work with our families and with Special Kids Connect's staff.
