It explains how the School District, Regional Center, and Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) should work together to support students in preparing for life after high school. What you’ll learn in this training:

  • How transition planning supports education, job training, employment, and independent living;
  • The roles of: School District (through the IEP – Individualized Education Program), Regional Center (through the IPP – Individual Program Plan) and the Department of Rehabilitation (through the IPE – Individualized Plan for Employment);
  • How to create a strong, coordinated transition plan;
  • How to navigate disagreements or challenges during the planning process; and
  • Tips for advocating for your child’s future.

Reasonable Accommodations: American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be offered.
