Presented by Disability Rights California, this webinar is part of a monthly series hosted by the Advocacy and Community Engagement (ACE) Team. The series explores a wide range of topics, from tools to support school-aged children with disabilities to resources that help adults navigate employment and public benefits. Each session is guided by direct feedback from community partners, ensuring the webinars address the issues they consider most important.

All About In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is a California program that helps low-income individuals who are aged, blind, or disabled stay safely in their own homes instead of moving to a care facility. IHSS provides support like help with bathing, cooking, cleaning, and more. This presentation provides an overview of the following:

  • Who qualifies for IHSS and how to apply;
  • The types of services IHSS provides, including domestic services, related services, personal care, protective supervision for those who need 24/7 monitoring, and paramedical services; and
  • How to appeal if your application is denied or your hours are reduced.

Reasonable Accommodations: American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be offered
