What is CalABLE? ABLE stands for "Achieving a Better Life Experience. CalABLE is a savings and investment program offered by the State of California that allows individuals with a disability to save and invest without losing eligibility for public benefits programs such as MediCal and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). CalABLE allows individuals with disabilities to maintain public benefit status even while saving above the established resource limits.
